How it started…
Following on from his studies at Trinity College of Music with the charismatic Bobby Lamb of Woody Herman fame…
Jimmy decided that he would put together a big band with fellow student Matt Hope, Murray Morrison and Claire Macinerny. 4 years later and after a successful residency at the famous Bulls Head in Barnes, Jimmy and Matt decided to form the Jazz Cannons. They were introduced to Ray Gelato’s manager Brad Lazarus, which started a 10 year journey… Days in the Jerwood library seeking out original arrangements and fine tuning, reducing and adapting their current repertoire to produce what is arguably the best ‘Small’ Big Band in London.
Since 2009, Jimmy and the band have performed internationally at private events and concerts in Cyprus, Florence, Greece, Paris, Kuala lumpur, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Jordan and Dubai, as well as entertaining numerous private and corporate audiences at The Ritz Club, The Savoy, The Dorchester, Claridges, Soho House, Dover St. Wine Bar, The Groucho Club, and the The Pigalle back in London.
